SfG Team Members Play Big Roles in Local User Groups

By Sara Simon

We’re thrilled to announce that Casey and Kevin are on deck to head the Ruby Users of Minnesota group. Starting next month, they’ll be in charge of finding speakers, coordinating sponsors, and feeding the hungry Ruby enthusiasts at meetings. Big thanks to the sponsors for continuing to make it happen, and here’s to a smooth transition!

Here at Software for Good, Joe grew a little jealous of the Ruby group and wanted to start one for local iOS developers. We jumped at the opportunity, our trusty little kitchen/conference room quickly becoming the new iOS meetup spot. Throw in some free pizza and beer, and it’s a real event.

The first meeting is tonight, and it’s not too late to sign up! Register here.

Girls in Tech

I’m really excited about this one. For nearly a year now, Software for Good has been proud to partner with the Minneapolis chapter of Girls in Tech. The connection developed thanks to Bobbilee, Web Director of the GIT Minneapolis site and one of our favorites here at Software for Good.

With still so few women in STEM fields, we are proud to be helping GIT to reach out to, support, and inspire local women who are passionate about technology.
