Where good ideas meet great potential.

An Opportunity to Build Tech for Good

We pair up-and-coming professionals with mission-driven organizations to create lasting change.

Are you a nonprofit, startup, or for-good organization looking to market your product or service, add new features to an existing platform, or grow your impact with a limited development budget?

Are you a local student or recent graduate looking for hands-on experience and the chance to build your resume with meaningful work?

Our giving program was created for you.

How does it work?

During each apprenticeship session, Software for Good pairs a small cohort of up-and-coming professionals with an organization seeking to use technology for positive social or environmental change.

Under the guidance of a dedicated program coordinator, apprentices partner with one another and the broader Software for Good team on a 12-week software development or design and strategy project. The result? Hands-on experience for the apprentice team and deeply discounted professional work for the organization.

Exciting new support from the state of Minnesota

In the summer of 2021, Software for Good became one of four organizations awarded a competitive grant by the state of Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development. Through 2022, we participated in the Tech Training Pilot Program, with the goal of providing tech career pathways for young adults who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Learn more here about the program.

Currently, we are evaluating the future of the program, and will announce our 2023 plans soon.

As our program evolves, we will continue to share ways to get involved!
