We work on hard problems, and from time to time, the problem seems more like a brick wall. This week, instead of trying to use your head as a sledgehammer, walk away.
Usually, walking away and taking a breath gives you a new perspective on the problem. Solutions frequently come to me in the shower; most likely because I’m not staring at the computer screen, stuck spinning my wheels. So go for a walk, work on a completely different problem, have a snack. Your brain is still working on a solution in the background. Sometimes you just need a little distance to get clarity.
