The Challenge
ProgressNow supports a national network of state organizations advancing progressive policies through earned and digital media. At the center of this work is Megaphone, a custom platform that helps organizers and volunteers quickly find, share, and amplify content in support of progressive initiatives. Over time, the platform had grown difficult to maintain. With only a single developer supporting the system, instability issues and a growing backlog of feature requests made it difficult for the team to keep pace with the needs of their expanding network.
Our solution
What began as a maintenance engagement quickly evolved into a strategic partnership. Software for Good worked with ProgressNow to stabilize the Megaphone platform and facilitate their product strategy to establish a clear roadmap for future development. From there, we partnered closely with their internal teams to rebuild key parts of the mobile application, expand social integrations, and implement features to better support organizers working on the go.
Results
Megaphone is now a stronger and more scalable tool for digital organizing. Advocates and volunteers can easily discover and share content across channels, while improved reporting and analytics provide deeper insight into reach and engagement. The platform’s stable foundation and modern codebase ensure it will remain nimble and adaptable, allowing ProgressNow to continue evolving the tool as the needs of its network grow.
