The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota helps people with seizure disorders reach their full potential through education and training, youth camps, social events, scholarships, and more. They also receive over 40% of their funding for those services through donations of used clothing and household goods. Their new website had to make donation pickups and drop-offs as smooth as possible — while providing support to people dealing with an epilepsy diagnosis, learning about seizure safety, or connecting to the epilepsy community.
We started with a clean, bright custom design that made it easy for the EFMN team to build website pages. To maintain the functionality for scheduling donations, we built the WordPress site to work with the existing back end. We also integrated the site with Salesforce and created an interactive map to show donation drop-off locations.
Because used goods donors and the people who need EFMN’s services are two distinct audiences, we set up separate tracking for them in Google Analytics. We customized the content management system so that every page of the site can be linked to the organization’s “agency” services or to “donated goods.”
The finished website is packed full of information for people with epilepsy and their loved ones, but remains easy to browse and navigate. It’s a valuable resource for the people the Epilepsy Foundation serves, while being a strong and reliable platform for their primary source of funding.
